A little bit about us...

My name is Michele. I love working with children and began working in 1987 in this career field. My husband was in the Military and the government had a program that allowed spouses who lived on the base to become trained and open a day care in their home. Our daughter was two years old when I became licensed. Through the years, I have operated two other day cares in my home in different locations. I have also been a nanny to three wonderful families, one with three children, one with two children and a single child family. I have worked as a pre-k teacher in a center in Virginia as well as a pre-school teacher in North Carolina which is where I took a state exam and earned my teaching credentials. Prior to opening Perfectly Prepared Preschool, I was working at E.C.Glass High School as an Instructional Assistant/Job Coach in the Special Education Dept. with students that have special needs. I am also first aid and CPR certified. Perfectly Prepared Preschool has now been open for six years. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with some of the young children of the future and preparing them for the experiences they will have on their journey of continued education. I look forward to working with your child towards the beginning of a successful future.

My name is Shannon. I graduated in May 2010 from Liberty University with a BS of Integrated Studies in Elementary Education with concentrations in English and social science. I am licensed through the state of Virginia to teach grades prek-6. At Liberty I had many wonderful opportunities to work with children of all ages. My fondest experiences were those with the pre-k students. I have a passion for the youngest of learners when everything around them is new, exciting, and presents an opportunity for learning. Each semester, while at Liberty, I was placed in a classroom in different schools. I’ve been in both private and public schools, as well as in rural and urban areas. In these diverse environments I have worked with children from many different ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic levels, as well as with children with many different exceptionalities including ADHD, LD, ED, and gifted. I have volunteered at The Center which is a nonprofit tutorial program for children in downtown Lynchburg. I have also had the great experience of volunteering at Amazement Square during the past three years. Besides being prepared to nurture your child’s learning and growth based on their unique abilities and learning styles I am also prepared to care for your child’s safety as I am First Aid/CPR certified. I look forward to being a part of your child’s growth and success!
